In-Person Workshop

Instructor: Kristen Walsh

Register online or email info@artscentereast.org

Is your thumb not as green as you had hoped? Want to add some greenery to your home or office, but can’t seem to keep any plants alive? This workshop is for you! Kristen Walsh will teach you, step by step, how to create a cute felted succulent – no soil or watering necessary!

Come learn the fun and quick-moving art form known as needle felting! Learn how to blend colors and shape wool to make your own succulent plant that will look so realistic you’ll think you need to water it! Each plant will be approximately 4” tall. All materials and terracotta pot are included.

Recommended for ages 12+

Kristen Walsh has been involved in creative things her whole life. She has been exploring fiber for many years – first knitting, then spinning, and finally felting.

Kristen has been earning attention for her felting, winning prizes at the Old Saybrook Arts Show, Marlborough Arts Center, and Glastonbury Arts Show in Connecticut, selected as Best in Show finalist at the Neptune Festival in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and having work selected for publication in Fiber Arts magazine, and Cloth,Paper, Scissors magazine

Kristen also enjoys teaching and finds great satisfaction in helping people who might not think they are creative find the creative spark that she believes lives in all of us. She has taught out of her home, at art centers and galleries, schools, senior centers, fiber festivals, and shops. Most recently she was selected to teach at the New York Sheep and Wool festival – one of the largest in the country.
