Arts Research and Impact Officer

The Arts Research and Impact Officer will play a crucial role in the Greater Hartford Arts Council’s success by overseeing the entire grant lifecycle, including writing grants, managing program evaluations, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. This position will also be responsible for writing compelling program content, translating data into comprehensive reports, supporting both the programming and marketing teams, and leading arts research and writing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, a robust background in writing, and significant experience in the nonprofit or higher education sectors. The Arts Research and Impact Officer reports to the Director of Equitable Arts Advancement

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Content Development:

a. Collaborate with program staff to develop engaging and informative program content for various audiences.

b. Ensure that all program materials are aligned with the organization’s mission and branding guidelines.

2. Program Evaluation and Reporting:

a. Develop and implement program evaluation plans to measure the impact and effectiveness of our programs and grantmaking.

b. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform program improvements and demonstrate outcomes.

c. Create comprehensive and visually appealing reports based on data findings to share with stakeholders, funders, and the public.

3. Arts Research and Writing:

a. Conduct research on current trends, best practices, and emerging issues in the arts sector.

b. Write articles, white papers, and other publications to position the organization as a thought leader in the arts community.

4. Grant Management:

· Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and goals.

· Write and submit high-quality grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, government agencies, and other entities.

· Manage all aspects of grant compliance, including tracking deadlines, ensuring adherence to grant requirements, and preparing interim and final reports for funders.

5. Supporting Programming and Marketing:

· Ensure cohesive communication and messaging for program content.

· Provide program-related content and updates to the marketing team for inclusion in newsletters, social media, and other promotional materials.

Qualifications:

· Education:

· Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Fine Arts, English) with at least two years of experience in a nonprofit or higher education role.

· OR Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Fine Arts, English) with at least five years of experience in a nonprofit role.

· Experience:

· Experience in evaluation and data analysis.

· Background in developing and writing program content.

· Demonstrated experience in writing reports, papers, and other professional documents.

· Skills:

· Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating diverse writing capabilities.

· Excellent organizational and project management skills.

· Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into meaningful reports.

· Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

· Passion for the arts and a deep commitment to the organization's mission.

Details and Benefits:

· Competitive salary: $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience

· In-office work hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

· Some evening and weekend hours will be required for events and programming
