Making a difference at the Judy Dworin Performance Project
“Without the Greater Hartford Arts Council, we would see a city become dangerously malnourished—struggling to provide the cultural sustenance on which our sense of community and humanity depends. It would be a dismal environment without such support and affirmation.”
– Judy Dworin, Executive & Artistic Director, Judy Dworin Performance ProjectDonate
Some of our stories
Making a difference at Farmington Valley Arts Center"The great thing about the Arts Council funding is that it has allowed us to develop this program [Accessible Art for All]. We initially had the idea to develop the program, but as a small community arts center, we just didn’t have the money to do it. So it just made all the difference and really helped us bring it to fruition." Watch the video.
Making a difference at the Judy Dworin Performance Project"Organizational funding is among the hardest to find and the hardest to get, and the fact that GHAC makes it a priority and says "we understand that none of this would happen if the nuts and bolts of this organizational structure weren't supported" is what really allows the work to be what it is." Making a difference at Playhouse on Park"We are incredibly grateful to the Greater Hartford Arts Council. We are only 8 years old; we founded a professional theater in 2009 when the economy was at its worst. So without the support from foundations like the Arts Council, we certainly wouldn't be here. Programming support has allowed to supplement ticket prices and allow us to keep our tickets at a more affordable price range." Watch the video.
