GHAC Mural Walk

The art walk is a self-guided walking tour of the many awe-inspiring public art installations in the City of Hartford. It will be designed to offer everyone the freedom to explore at their own pace, all while learning about the fascinating artists and stories behind each art piece. With the convenience of your mobile device, you can immerse yourself in the rich art and creativity of Hartford like never before.  

A digital map and markers with QR codes on each mural will be created by the Arts Council to encourage participation in the art walk. 

  • Tao Labossiere

    MURALISTTao LaBossiere, with over 25 years of experience, crafts hand-painted murals that transform spaces and captivate viewers. He specializes in site-specific designs. Tao's murals, brimming with creativity, invite a fresh perspective on the environment and underlying concepts. Tao's art promotes ideas and attracts people uniquely, avoiding overt advertising. His mission: provoke interaction and inspire self-reflection and inner growth, making each piece a significant, transformative experience.

  • Olivia “Fiyabomb” Nguyen

    Specializing in acrylic, Olivia Be' Nguyen, whom also goes by the name of "Fiyabomb" is a 34 year old, Vietnamese self-taught surrealistic Artist from Hartford, CT. Nguyen began branding herself in the art industry by selling her artwork and hosting "one of a kind" galleries. Receiving acknowledgement from celebrities such as Big Sean, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, 50 cent, Spike Lee and countless more, Nguyen has used her social media as a personal gain to inspire individuals across the world.

  • Catie Lewis

    Catie Lewis is an oil painter and muralist based in Connecticut. She began practicing art professionally in 2019 after moving to Austin, TX and being introduced to the rich creative community there. She has since stretched her capabilities across many styles and mediums before landing on her love for oil painting and large scale murals. Catie’s current work is heavily inspired by her Filipino heritage and the core memories from her life that she carries with her each day.

  • Chris Gann

    b.1982 Chris Gann is a landscape painter and advocate for artists around the CT area that need assistance with large projects. He lives in Connecticut with his family and works across the state to complete interior and exterior murals like the “ReAwakening Wonder” 2023 spring project (New England’s tallest mural) w Micheal Rice.   • Ryan (ARCY) Christenson

    Known for his paint splashed style of large scale street art, ARCY has created hundreds of live murals and permanent large scale works throughout North America, Australia, and Europe. ARCY has worked for the likes of The Smithsonian Institute, Major League Baseball, America’s National Parks Service, and is currently developing a collaborative body of work for The Walt Disney Company as a Disney Fine Artist.

  • Tyrone "ZeroSnake" Motley

    Is a prominent anime illustrator from Connecticut whose early start in animation has led him down the path of being a published graphic novelist with his latest release entitled ‘Unrivaled’. In partnership with Hartford Public Library he inspires and educates youth through workshops on how they too can create animations.

  • Julie Bergeron

    Julie Bergeron's murals are dedicated to harnessing the power of creativity and visual arts as dynamic tools for community enrichment. Julie brings her artistic vision to public spaces, while inspiring and engaging individuals to leave a lasting imprint on the cultural fabric their community. Julie Bergeron uses art as a vehicle for education and community enhancement, creating vibrant and meaningful experiences through her independent mural projects and collaborative endeavors.

  • Ashley Innocent

    Ashley is an Afro-Latina of Haitian descent, born in New York, raised in Connecticut. She’s is a very intuitive and innovative multidisciplinary artist who creates to satisfy her soul and to open the minds of others. She believes that there are numerous ways we are connected(art being one of them) Her work demonstrates these introspections in a very surrealistic way. Ashley wants to saturate Hartford with more beauty to counter the blandness of the urban aesthetic. People need to see art daily.

  • Lindaluz Carrillo

    I am a first-generation Afro-Peruvian artist, educator, and community organizer based in New York. I combine graphic design, painting, installation and graffiti elements to tell stories that reflect my values and experiences around transformative healing, radical self-love and resilience. My work often calls attention to cultural representation by using textile patterns, symbols, landscapes, and structures influenced by my childhood experiences in Peru and U.S.

  • Jillian Goeler

    Jillian (she/her) is an illustrator and muralist based in Connecticut. She specializes in hand lettering and bright, bold illustrative work for a variety of applications from greeting cards, editorial, murals and beyond. You can usually find her lettering lyrics from artists ranging anywhere from Bowie to Broadway or getting lost drawing desert landscapes and cactus blooms. When she's not drawing, she's hanging out with her dog named Fred (she/her).

  • Micheal Rice

    Michael Rice is a self–taught visual artist based in Hartford, CT. His work, at once arresting and inviting, is a direct reflection of our current times – an age in which the lines between our digital and physical worlds continue to blur. Often engaging with the viewer in a seemingly relentless fashion, Rice’s work draws parallels to our world's dichotomous transformation and provides perspective on the emergence of a new paradigm – one filled with limitless potential, but also new challenges.

  • Micaela Levesque

    Micaela blends her love for contemporary realism with her passion for large scale public art to create bold, captivating murals. Drawing inspiration from the world around her, Micaela’s work focuses on subjects ranging from delicate portraiture to rich elements of biodiversity. She uses spray paint, latex paint, and careful rendering to breathe life into her murals. Her artwork aims to enlighten communities through meaningful narratives or simply to add flavor to a once mundane space.

  • Corey Pane

    Corey Pane is an artist from Connecticut. He spends most of his time breathing life into new creations. Spanning a wide range of mediums and materials to create with and focusing on the process and experience. Corey graduated with a BFA in Illustration from Hartford Art School and has shown his work in galleries and public, community spaces. He has done work with lots of bands and music related things, as well as professional athletes and other sports related things.

  • Sophie Groenstein

    Painting New England and beyond as a CT native, Sophie finds inspiration by celebrating the warmth of individuality when creating her expressive portrait illustrations and murals. Her distinctive style emanates positivity and expresses the vibrant spirit of her surrounding community. Through her dynamic color palette, Sophie represents surrounding communities within her work to share their story, inspire reflection, and seek opportunities to form deeper connections through public art.

  • Jaii Marc Renee

    Every stroke of the brush, Jaii Marc Renee, opens his heart to the world. He struggled to find his artistic identity. Self-esteem and mental health played a role, but it was this same adversity that paved the way for the artist he is today. Jaii used painting, as a mechanism to channel the difficult symptoms of Bipolar Depression. Using his own unique style of large canvases, abstract portraits, with a bold pop of color, are ways to identify his virtuosity.

  • Patrick “VIZIE” Griffin

    Originally from Houston, Texas, VIZIE began pursuing art at an early age, quickly becoming focused primarily on graffiti, coming to prominence during the late 90’s and 2000's. Beyond Texas, his inspired and innovative work in both the arts and graffiti has taken him to many U.S. and international cities. He made his mark with long stops in cities like Kansas City, San Francisco, Oakland, Chicago, and New York eventually landing in Connecticut where he has lived and worked for the past 4 years.
