Creative Non-Fiction Workshop: Memoir & Monologue

  • Do feel that your life would make a good book or movie?

  • Do you want to be able to engagingly share the story of your life with friends and family?

  • Do you want to have the structure and tools to reflect and maybe rewrite (or re-right) some aspect of the story of your life?

This workshop will help you look upon your past and help you more skillfully become the author of your future. We will explore the significance of story through creative writing assignments and collaborative exercises that stimulate memory, imagination, metaphor and sensory perception. This workshop is part of the Perspectives of Home art exhibit and participants, who are interested, will be able to share their stories during a public presentation of Stories and Poetry in early 2022. This class will either be on Zoom or a hybrid of in-person and online.

Facilitator: WORK_SPACE Manager, Stacey Zackin, who has degrees in Film/Photography, worked in Hollywood for over a decade, and studied storytelling on her way to earning a PhD in Depth Psychology.

Cost: $99 ($79 for those who register by Thanksgiving, $39 for members), For those who complete the 5 sessions and share their 5-8 minute stories during an evening of Storytelling (date TBD), they will receive a $50 honorarium.
