Description of the Event: 

The Hartford Dance Festival (formerly the Riverfront Dance Festival) will be presented at the Elizabeth Park, John G. Martin Foundation stage on the Helen S Kaman Rose Garden Lawn. Audience members will gather on the lawn with their picnics for a free dance performance, featuring a variety of genres. Both local and internationally touring acts will be featured in eight minute segments, combining the communities of dance together for the night. An MC from a local station will host the evening, introducing acts, talking about the impact dance can have on any community, and get the crowd excited about dance with a flashmob. The audience will take breaks in between performances for dancing, yoga, meditation, or shopping & enjoying visual artist vendors.
