Join teaching artist Mary Smeallie to demystify the intimidating medium of watercolor. We’ll start from scratch—discussing types of paper, pigments, color mixing, and glazing as well as tricks and techniques. Participants will work from a variety of subject matter, such as still life, landscape, florals, abstraction, and anything else that inspires you. There will be demonstrations, critiques, and plenty of one-on-one instruction to benefit the learning process. All skill levels are welcome. Supplies will be provided for the first class, but students are welcome to bring their own supplies. Three-week class. Wednesdays, June 1, 8, 15, from 2-4 p.m. Preregistration required.
