Summer in the City

A celebration of art, music, and culture in the capital city.

Summer in the City is the Arts Council’s signature series of events that attract hundreds of thousands of people from across the Northeast (and the world) to participate and perform in multi-cultural festivals all summer long.

Since 2017, we’ve partnered with the City of Hartford to produce Summer in the City with major support from Raytheon Technologies. Every summer, these festivals create a ripple effect of economic, social, and cultural impact, showcasing a variety of local talents, generating new opportunities for artists all year long. Furthermore, these events continue to nuture deeper multi-cultural understanding in the city by offering meaningful and transformative experiences, building a stronger, kinder community.
