Not unlike Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Swan Lake is an iconic classic that is re-imagined by each new generation. Choreographer Grigorovich finds psychological depths in the story of young Prince Sigfried, who falls in love with the mysterious Odette danced by Olga Smirnova, who The New York Times calls, "a rarity, a ballerina whose every movement feels luminously right and true".
