In this one-night class, you will learn techniques you can utilize to improve your acrylic paintings. The class will cover color mixing with a limited palette, composition, creating focal points, using abstract shapes, and tips and tricks to paint more creative works of art.

As summer nears we all have fond memories at the beach. This painting was composed from a few pictures from Cape Cod. You can paint this based upon your favorite beach!

We will paint the sky and ocean and you will learn how to create the illusion of waves. We will then use techniques to paint sand and grasses using layers of complimentary colors. Shadows will help to form the sand dunes. And lastly we will paint a boardwalk path to the beach using some dry brush techniques. A few seagulls and a little fun splatter will make it pop!

Christine will provide several examples on the board and there will be paper setup for practicing your skills.
This is a beyond basics course. Some experience with acrylics is recommended. Basic drawing skills are suggested, but a template for painting will be provided. If you’ve tried a paint night before, this is the next step up!

All materials are included, but we suggest bringing a painting apron or a large shirt to wear.
