The Pearl

  • Sonia Plumb Dance Company 960 Main Street Hartford, CT, 06112 United States (map)

Choreographer and Artistic Director, Sonia Plumb and Photographer, Rob Goldman present, "The Pearl."

Through a poetic interweaving of projected photography and choreography, seven women share
the struggles they each endure between their conditioned selves and their true nature. The Pearl
is designed to provoke poignant, honest dialogue by intimately confronting the destructive nature
of commercially propagated norms. The dancers embody diversity in their cultures, genres, ages
and ethnicities, dancing with their digitally projected selves in an intimate setting.

Live performances will be held on May 10-14 at 7pm, and May 12 and 14 at 2pm with a panel discussion on May 12 and a Q&A after all of our performances.

Tickets are capped at 30 per performance. Tickets range from $5-50 and a “pay what you can performance,” will be held on May 14 at 2pm.

Masks are optional; dancers will be unmasked. Streaming will be made available from May 16 to May 30.
