The Radium Dial Painters

  • American Clock and Watch Museum 100 Maple Street Bristol, CT, 06010 United States (map)

Behind the story of the clock and watch industries’ success, lies a tragic story of employee sacrifice. For a time, little was known about the toxic working conditions of the young women in the dial painting industry. Fortunately, their story was eventually heard. Unfortunately, many of them did not live to see that day. Colleen Nicastro, Director of Interpretation at the American Clock & Watch Museum, will present this story of opportunity, broken trust, and the search for truth.

Location: 100 Maple Street, Bristol, CT 06010

Cost: $5 for museum members, $7 for non-members
